Copper Christmas 2001

Ho Ho Ho

Off we go

Another year down

Don’t ya know

In 2001 we paid our dues

And turned out to be a year of two’s

Zac thought he was the Wiz

That has all changed now that we have two kids

Brenda almost went biserk

After all it was a lot of work

At birth Zac was over nine pounds

With J.T. under 7 how sweet it sounds

When J.T. is old and writes his Bio

It will include the fact he was born on Cinco Demyo

At birth he had a raisin look on his face

But within 30 minutes he got to watch his first Kentucky derby race

Now Zac did not quite comply

As he was born on the sixth of July

From a hospital bench

I realize we married on French independence (July 14th)

Only now does it make since

That J.T would be born on Mexican independence (May 5th) (Add a call out… another 2)

Jeff is always one to compete

At this years Rib Off he got second

Making it a second place two peat

Santa usually sees nothing but ice

This year the Coppers saw Jimmy Buffett twice

It was in Tampa that we saw the first show

To make the second it was off to Virginia we would go

Chip, Jean and Teresa Copper

Plan on making next years Buffett concert a showstopper

It is not like we are taking communion

But it will be our tenth annual copper/buffet concert reunion

It was a hell of a lot of fun

To be in NYC the Tuesday before 911

It was our second trip in as many years

A week later our eyes were full of tears

Jeff is learning to play the guitar

Trust me he will never be a star

We wish he practiced in a barn

His best song is old McDonald had a farm

To me Ruth Frecker Smith was magic

My report on her this year is tragic

As Brenda’s grandmother she was a big deal

I still cannot get over at 88 she still wore high heals

Zac is not one to gloat

But he was the only kid with a Halloween float

His Dad almost went insane

Building a eight foot F16 fighter airplane (add picture?)

Corona’s morning biscuit is

Shaped like a bone

With the arrival of J.T.

We welcomed the return of Joan

Everything has worked out dandy

With our new team of nannies

Joan’s new partner is not named Larry

We welcomed the addition of Ms. Mary

Even though eight years have passed

Jeff figured he could last

A triathlon that was a sprint

Good thing he did not end up in the medical tent

For the second time Jeff retired from triathlons

He and Brenda now compete in the shuttle kid decathlon

Tao Kwan Do, Cub scouts, volleyball and Soccer

The car trunk in now more of a locker

To say the least Zac did not get the call

To play volleyball

But Holly molly

Zac turned out to be quite a good goalie

Zac had an incredible summer

In no way was it a bummer

As parents we almost got a cramp

Running him around to MOSI, art and sports camp

The best camp of all

Was scheduled just before fall

Camp Grandparent Copper

Turned out to be the topper

He went to a Harry Belefante Concert upon arriving

The next week it was a golf cart he was driving

When Grandpa found Zac missing

He was found at the pond just fishing

When it was time to day goodbye

On a plane Zac would fly

Although he is the size of an elf

It was the first time he flew by himself

Jeff heard the call

And went to play flag football

Oh the next day Jeff was sore

Zac meet him at the door

In the jungle jim at seaworld the two of them would roam

All Jeff could do was groan

Last thanksgiving

Jeff was going to quit making a living

After six short weeks he was tired

Of being semi retired

He is surviving the dot com bomb

No thanks to a company called MedCom

Some people might have wept

Jeff now consults for DSM.net

In Santa Claus Zac Believes

Thanksgiving day he played in a 8 foot pile of leaves

J.T. was having a ball

Any day we expect him to crawl

With a heavy sigh

It is now time to say good-bye

Happy Holidays

Jeff, Brenda, Zac, Jeff “J.T.” Junior, Corona & Caymus
