Copper Christmas 2002

Ho Ho Ho

Pass me a cup of joe

Writing this years poem

Has a long way to go.

Where to start…

I won’t bother with discussing our kid’s art

Our kids seem to be getting smarter

In 2002 we got to see Harry Potter

In Florida we did not get a new governor

Aon did promote a southerner

As a mom she is dressed to a T

With a business card that states Sr. VP

In Greensboro we took communion

For our annual Jimmy Buffett Reunion

The weather stayed clear

As we celebrated our family outing for the tenth year

We don’t know how long our Buffett streak can be maintained

Aunt Teresa ended the event in pain.

Someone accidentally clocked her

At midnight in her cul-de-sac playing soccer

On May 5th all the parents took a siesta

After we enjoyed J.T.’s first fiesta

As the margarita’s flowed

JT’s diaper carried a load

Our Landcruiser now smells like a locker

Zac continues to play a lot of soccer

He moved from the YMCA to a soccer club

On Friday night the families turn the bleachers into a pub

In June Jeff and Zac did some mingling

At a cousins wedding in New England

In the spirit of finishing this rhyme

We had a great time.

There was really no trick

Just some help from Mark Galaznik

It is not like anyone tried any harder

But Zachary is the one who caught the bride’s garter

In August Zac was off to camp Copper

Driving the golf cart was a show stopper

In Va there was no wishing

Zac got to go fishing

He had such a blast

And caught his first bass

No looking at the hour glass

We are lucky he did not come home in a cast

Zac wanted a new toy

Specifically a game boy

Daddy did what he said

And gave it to him after he read Charlottes web

Boy has he got it made

Zac is now in first grade

Mom and dad do give him aid

Before his spelling test is made

He loves to go to school every day

To see his teacher Mrs. Gray

What could the poor boy do

Jeff got a job offer from MOO (Mutual of Omaha)

The New Wild Kingdom features such animals as the Kangaroo

You would think he worked in a Zoo

You could say he got out of technology

And went on to biology

Well… more line insuranceoligy

Which feel’s more like psychology

There has been some bouts

Jeff now helps lead the cub scouts

Right now things are calm

Since Jeff set up pack310.com

I beg your pardon

Is what Zac said to the giraffe at Busch Gardens

The giraffe he did pet

As a result he won the bet

Grandpa, Brenda and Jeff just drooled

As Zac won his first football pool

All three tried to win

But it went to the youngest of kin

The block thought the family was keen

As we all dressed up for Halloween

As usual Jeff built a float

Unlike the first year it was not a boat

At first he was going to build a dragon

Instead he built a covered wagon

Before this summer Zac could not point out a Lexus

But now he can identify Texas

In 2001 he got a new brother

In 2002 he got to meet his great grandmother

This year there were parties galore

Two were birthdays for grandmothers we adore

Although both were mile stones that they adhore

All the same, the parties were not a bore

J.T. sometimes looks like a nut

His nose runs so much it looks like a glazed donut

Even though his face is always moist

Soccer is already his sport of choice

Jeff is trying not to be a fool

Although it does sound cool

The pressure is not cool

Everyone in the family wants a pool

Between work and chasing kids

Brenda and Jeff get to exercise

To remain there pre-kid size

However to get it done it must happen before sunrise

It is now time to ready our cards to send

With pictures that the postman should not bend

For our poem is over… The End

Happy Holiday The Coppers
